The Craft of Painting Plastics
Painting of plastics is done to improve appearance and enhance weather and chemical resistance. The main processes are as follows
1. pretreatment
Degreasing: Oil and dirt are washed off the plastic surface with a surfactant solution, rinsed with water, and dried.
Polishing: The surface is lightly polished with sandpaper to improve paint adhesion. After polishing, dust is removed by air blow.
Primer Coating: Primer is sprayed on to further improve the adhesion of the paint film to the plastic. Allow the primer to dry for an appropriate period of time after application. 2.2. painting
Paint selection: Acrylic, urethane, or other types of paint are selected according to the application and performance requirements.
Coating method: Generally, spray coating is used to form a uniform coating film. When painting, the viscosity of the paint, discharge volume, and spraying pressure should be adjusted appropriately. Multiple coats are applied to ensure coating thickness. 3.3. drying
Natural drying: Leave at room temperature for a certain period of time to dry, but it takes time.
Forced drying: Drying at appropriate temperature and time using a drying oven to accelerate hardening of the coating film.
